Hi! I wanted to introduce myself, I'm building a podcast directory / discovery service called SmartyCast. It uses AI & natural language processing (transcription is on the way) to understand the podcasting landscape, make recommendations, and let people browse based on fine-grained topics. v1.47.4 is out, some internal technical refactoring (please let me know if you experience any side effect) - also, it fixes a minor issue introduced with v1.47.3 (AngularJS update) - the miniplayer that appears when you scroll down was not showing up anymore.

The BoostBot is awesome. When you send a boost to it, it posts a comment on Mastodon. There's also one for IRC chat rooms that will let everyone know the podcast was boosted and show the message to to everyone in the chat. Very cool.

And, Podcasting 2.0 will be LIVE tonight, so you'll be able to listen, chat, and Boost live from a podcasting app. CurioCaster is the only one to support Live right now though.

I thought about turning Sovereign Feeds into a podcast hosting platform, and Adam told me "You do NOT want to do this". He said it can be a nightmare dealing with all of the customer complaints. I can only imagine.

I have just discovered Castopod and I am still amazed by the depth of the Fediverse and ActivityPub protocol.

It's a platform to host audio podcast. And like with Peertube, you can follow accounts on one instance of Castopod directly through Mastodon.
