@theDanielJLewis What kind of failure rate are you seeing on the Apple API right now. I'm seeing a TON of lookups not returning a feedUrl property, but I'm trying to see if it's just the nature of our sample set, or if it's that way across the board.

@dave Can you give me some AP IDs?

@jamescridland and I were just chatting about this and he shared a few dozen and all the ones I randomly tested were actually iTunes U content, not valid podcasts.

@theDanielJLewis Yep. Got titles on many of them now too. This is tonight's run, which encompasses the previous 24 hours:

Looks like a lot of Radio France and iTunes U in there?

Total is at the bottom. 65% lookup failure. These are lookups that happen because someone requested an iTunes ID we don't have in the DB. So we try to look up all those "misses" each night to back-fill. Because they are misses, it's probably biased toward non-existent feedUrls like those.

@dave Radio France, yeah. That's their decision.

Nearly everything else looks like iTunes U, just from the titles.

And I spotted one Apple exclusive.

So nothing to feed the conspiracies here.

@nathan @dave The one I saw was 1189348374, "How to Play Siri Audio Briefs." Which might actually be a test from Apple.

@nathan @theDanielJLewis I wonder if that's a sample feed in a Siri dev kit from Apple and people are submitting those without modifying.
