So do most people keep there shows on something like AWS or are the majority using one of the podcast specific hosts? Are any 2.0 friendly? I'm trying to keep costs to a minimum in the beginning even if that means migrating to a better method in the future.

@nixer

Some people self-host but yes the majority use a hosting company.

Buzzsprout is good from my experience, but you have various Podcasting 2.0 friendly options:

@SignsOfNewGrowth so many choices... any idea which is most popular or best reputation?

@nixer

Buzzsprout I would say is popular and has a good reputation around here.

@nixer You really want to have the audio files on a host that specializes in podcast distribution, and also highly consider hosts that host the RSS feed. I had a client (when I did web site design/hosting) where they were hitting limits of the plan, and figured out over 90% of their traffic was the RSS feed!
