Do I really need #Alby for #Nostr #Asknostr

Zeus said using Alby is custodial. I thought Albyhub is noncustodial?

I obviously have a lot to learn, but after hearing so many people praise Lightning and Alby, I feel like it’s still not ready for the average user. I don’t mind self hosting and a little risk I do the wrong thing, but for most people it’ll be a pain.

Messed up the mounts in pod man and when restarting my hub I opened a channel twice, $40 or so total, and can’t find any clear way to view the on-chain details. Will those channels close after inactivity? Does it go back to the on-chain Alby wallet?

#Phoenix channel management 1.200 sats, #alby hub 20.000 sats. Quite different

I don't understand #Alby Hub at all. I'm running the desktop version and it:

1. Asked me for a password (for what?)
2. Never asked me for a back end (e.g. LND)
3. Doesn't have any setting yo set the back end
4. Says I can open a channel (without using my backend?)

This just doesn't seem to match what the readme says about supporting LND.

I installed @4657dfe8 Hub and opened a channel with Olympus by @34d2f527. Can I connect to my #Alby node from the #ZEUS app to use/manage the channel?

I created today an #Alby Hub account.
I thought I would have after this a working LN wallet which I can connect it to #amethyst (and change the #WoS which I had until today)
But in Alby I needed to connect an nwc wallet first.

Tried to link WoS Didn't work.

Tried to link #Phoenix didn't work.

Installed also #AlbyGo.
Before this I had to install #zapstore
Thought that I could find in AlbyGo a connection string (Nostr+wallet connect) which I could connect to AlbyHub... I was wrong

So I created a #coinos account.
And linked coinos to Alby.

But now I have an Alby account linked with a coinos wallet.

I could use just the coinos address in amethyst, right?? What Alby helps here??

And how I secure my #sats in coinos?
I couldn't find a backup seed phrase there

Is it possible to take bitcoin off the lightning network once in alby hub and transfer it into a cold storage wallet for a long term hodl?

I am trying to set up Alby Hub on StartOS.

Is Bitcoin Core required? It sounds that Alby Hub has a dependency on LND, and LND is dependent on Bitcoin Core. Is that the required sequence?

I am learning, so any help will be appreciated.
